Yes I love to have my devices rooted, having budget devices I put Play Store updates into the system to save user app space, customise boot animation and remove bloat among other things.
When Google stop Supporting a Phone I'll Root it and use a Custom Rom I did that with Nexus 4 and 6 I am waiting for Pixel 1 support to end then I'll root it and go Custom rom then
