MOBDRO – Here is why you should not use it!⛔

In 2021 is it still safe when it comes back on anytime soon?

I miss mobdro. Mobdro was top notch & ran perfectly smooth for me. I hope it comes back but I heard a puppet Republican politician made it illegal to stream live TV.

Is it too late if I already installed and accepted to terms? Will deleting the app help at this point?

So, I know this video is over a year old, but there's a lot of misinformation on what the Luminati SDK actually is. It is essentially just a traffic routing application. In plain terms, if you are on the Luminati network, your home network is basically a truck stop from point A to point B. It will route internet traffic for a third party through your network that is navigating from their geo-ip to their destination geo-ip. This doesn't allow big corporations to use your internet connection for "whatever they want", as Lee puts it. The Luminati SDK is actually very strict in its usage, as well as when the SDK becomes active, as your device can only act as a routing point when it is essentially not in use. For android users, this means "screen off". Also, it can only become active when on a wifi network and when the battery level is above 60%. The app developer then sells access to that point (your device on your network) on the P2P network that they have your permission to use to Luminati, who then resells it to a third party.

This DOES NOT mean that if you are going to use Mobdro that you shouldn't use a VPN. Whenever you are using a streaming service that operates in a grey area, you should be using a VPN to mask your internet traffic so that if (even unknowingly), what you are doing (such as streaming a live TV channel) violates any local or out of country laws, violates copyright or licensing or anything of the sort, that activity can't be traced back to you. You should also only trust a VPN provider that does not log user activity and only operates in a country that is not part of the Nine-Eyes group of countries so that no country can subpoena the company for user information or activity.

I always disconnect my android box when I’m done using it. Prevents any app or box maker from accessing it while it’s off. I love mobdro, I use it all the time and I run a vpn while using it
